Faridkot, July 18, 2020: The Punjab Gau Sewa Commission is making special efforts to make the dairy farmer of Punjab more useful. The commission is trying to make the Gaushalas of the state financially strong enough to take care of the livestock on the roads also, said Chairman Sachin Sharma
Expressing concern over the deaths of a cow due to hunger and thirst, Sachin Sharma said, the need of the hour is that all the religious and political parties should come at one platform for the protection of the cows. A cow is worship-able as Mata, thus not only the government; all those devotees should work for their protection.
Extending an open invitation to all social service organizations, Chairman Gau Sewa Commission said, in the event of anyone noticing that cow livestock is not safe; he can call the Gau Sewa Commission at any time to lodge the complaint.
Taking note of discrepancies like negligence in the care of cows, non-availability of a medical facility or lack of cleanliness etc., in taking care of the cows, Chairman asked the District Magistrate to probe into the issue and ordered the police and civil administration form a committee to put a check to prevent of occurrence of such incidents in the future.
He clarified that special arrangements for fodder and water would be ensured for the cows in summer and made the district administration time-bound to resolve the issue permanently and this committee can run the service in a smooth manner in the future and safeguard the property.
Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner Vimal Kumar Setia said that District Administration Faridkot has launched a special drive to send the helpless cows to Gaushala Golewala under which about 100 helpless cows have been shifted to Gaushala so far. A committee headed by Faridkot Additional Deputy Commissioner Development has been constituted to submit its report within 15 days regarding the complaint received from him.
